Honest reporting on the small routines people actually keep

Daily Rituals covers the habits that make up an ordinary day — how people move, rest, eat and recover — and the products that promise to make those routines easier. We test what we can, read the research behind the rest, and write it up the way we would explain it to a friend.

How we work

Reporting built for people with limited time

Most readers arrive with one question and ten minutes. Everything we publish is written to answer that question first and offer the detail afterwards — not the other way around.

Written from the reader's side

Every piece starts from a question a reader sent us or a search people keep running — never from a brand brief.

Reported internationally

Our contributors work across Europe and North America, so a trend is checked in more than one market before we call it a trend.

Revisited, not archived

Reviews carry a review date. When a formula, a price or the evidence behind a claim changes, the article changes with it.

Hands-on where it is possible

Some things can be tested at a desk, others cannot. We say plainly which is which instead of dressing up a spec sheet as a trial.

Real accounts, labelled as such

Reader experiences are published with the reader's own words and clearly separated from our own assessment.

Corrections in the open

When we get something wrong, the correction sits at the top of the article with the date — not quietly edited into the text.

Editorial standards

What you can expect from anything published here

We are a small newsroom, and that shapes what we promise. We do not claim to test everything, and we do not publish rankings that a company can buy its way into. What we can promise is that the reasoning behind a verdict is always on the page, so you can disagree with it.

Where an article contains an affiliate or advertising relationship, it is marked at the top, before the first paragraph — not in the footer.

  • Commercial content is labelled. Advertorials and sponsored features carry a visible label above the headline.
  • Sources are named. Where we cite a study, we link it, including when the finding is smaller than the headline suggests.
  • No medical claims. We write about comfort, habits and everyday wellbeing. We do not diagnose, and we say when something belongs with a professional.
  • No invented people. Reader accounts come from readers. Where a story is illustrated with models or composed for privacy, we say so in the piece.

Questions we answer in full

Behind an article

From a reader's question to a published piece

The process is deliberately unglamorous. It exists so that two writers covering the same subject reach the page the same way.

  1. The question. We start from something specific a reader asked, not a category we would like to rank for.
  2. The evidence. We read what exists, including the parts that undercut the claim, and note where evidence is thin.
  3. The hands-on part. Where a product can reasonably be tried, someone tries it and keeps notes over weeks, not hours.
  4. The second read. A second person checks every claim against its source before publication.
  5. The review date. Each piece is scheduled for a revisit. If nothing changed, we say that too.
